The last time we had as many posts on a single day as we did yesterday was June 22nd, 2008 - I'm guessing the Ciddies. I imagine the CK contest also helped, but...

The last time we had as many active users logged in on a single day as we did yesterday was April 14, 2008 (that one wasn't a Ciddies spike, either, we just had that many users around then).

I think I have a different opinion of what spam is to most people. To me, spam is pointless entirely. It's like people doing Word Association or something. Meanwhile, people in this thread have held conversations. Conversations in most circumstances can often be considered spammy because they derail another topic, but as there is no real topic to this thread other than "converse with the people who are returning after seeing the email", I don't consider it spammy at all.

Gotta stick to my success story. 8-)
