... Just saw Coraline... Didn't care much for it. The story was kinda bland, the characters weren't believable nor likable, and a lot of stuff that just annoyed me. The only reason people say it's good is because they're goth 14 year olds who can masturbate to anything by Tim Burton...

Is that the one with the robot that protects the little girl?
    yes

And the weird man chest fight thing at the beginning?

Thank you. Both of you. I will be buying this when I can. That film was awesome.

And it's when the henchman guy meets up with (I think) the blacksmith or something like that, and they start their fight by puffing out their chests until their clothes rip or something. I swear I remember that.

it's the one with sky pirates
and it starts off with a sky pirate assault on a freighter
and the girl who floats down and the kid who works in the mines or whatever finds her afairemember
and then there's a chase scene on some railroad tracks
it was cool i liked it better than spirited away

    I Think I Love My Wife - 2007

Chris Rock directs, stars, and has written the screenplay for this movie. It's very funny in parts, and the overall story is quite good, but something is missing from the film overall that I can't put my mouth on. As well as that, I always thought the conclusion would spoil the movie on me. However I was pleasently surprised that In the end it didn't, so I was happy to had spent my hour and 40 minutes looking at it. Also have to mention, that the girl in the movie is so hot it's unbelieveable.

    Lars and the Real Girl

    Acting ... 9/10 (For Gosling)
    Originality ... 5/10
    Overall ... 7/10

When I first saw the trailer for this film, I thought this would be a very comedic, yet quirky story about a man who was mentally deranged and socially awkward. I was right. Ryan Gosling never ceases to amaze me in whatever role he's in. I actually I liked this better than his role in the Half Nelson. You can tell he's put a lot of effort in to making his mentally delusional character come alive.

He plays the role of a loner named Lars, who comes from a troubled family where his mother abandoned him, his brother and their father. Ryan made some great choices for the character; one of which is an occasional eye twitch. He also takes me back to his Mickey Mouse days of singing and dancing when he does his own awkward, yet humorous rendition of Nat King Cole's "L.O.V.E." He definitely outshines the rest of the cast whom are all just secondary characters as far as I'm concerned and not very interesting.

Although this film definitely has it's points of hilarity, there are some moments where you may want to grab your Kleenex. It may seem like a dry, slowly paced tale with dark colors, but in truth it's a feel good film after you get through the taboo of having a relationship with a sex doll and the inclinations of delusion disorder. However, this storyline is not entirely unique since the loner gets a sex doll thing has been done before in movies like Love Object, so I can't really give it an originality score aside from the unique mannerisms and wardrobe of Lars. Nonetheless, it was entertaining and in part, an interesting character study.

there's a documentary on google videos about people who actually buy real dolls; seeing the reality of the situation is pretty interesting/depressing/whatever

    Castle in the Sky.

But I've already seen it before, so I clearly loved it. It's not Miyazaki's BEST film but it's not his worst. And the worst he can do is pretty damn good.

Halloween II. It's not the Gummi way. :gruffi:

The brutality was effective; I had to cover my eyes during every kill, and I yelped at the sound effects! Everything else was stupid, especially the mommy thing.

Just watched Harry Potter 6. I liked it alright. Not enough Draco/Harry yaoi, but Snape killed Dumbledore so it was cool. An awful lot of "snogging," which I find adorable. I don't get what people's complaints are about it.

    SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

When I watched 6, I screamed "Dumbledore NO! Snape, you bastard!" for funsies. Some people laughed. Many parents glared. I enjoyed it.
