What do you think is the most universally loved song of all time?
I would have to say "Don't Stop Believin" by Journey

I dont know anyone who doesnt like It's My Life by Bon Jovi
Kefka's coming, look intimidating!
Have a nice day!!
Add me on the list of disliking both those songs. It's My Life usually makes me switch the station; I'll go out of my way at work to turn down the radio when it comes on.
I don't think there are any universally loved songs. One man's favorite song ever is the next man's ear bleeder.
shout - isley brothers only ever played when good times are happening....
I have to agree with this. I hate this song. I hate it. It's smurfing everywhere. Everywhere there's music I hear this song. I feel like it's following me. Everyone except for one person thinks I am absolutely crazy for hating this song, and by everyone I mean my friends and family that have absolutely no mutual musical preferences with the exception of this very song. If I hear this song one more smurfing time I am going to kick the out of whatever it's coming from. Even if I am for some reason at a Journey concert and I have to run up to the stage and beat up Journey.
DOOOOOOOOOOONT STOP BELIEEEEEEEEVIN
HOLD ONTO THAT FEEEEEEELINNNNNN
Like any Beetles song doi.
You can like Don't Stop Believin' sincerely, or because it's just so ridiculous, but not to like it for either is just a little bit sad.
The Tetris theme.

I think the music accompaniment is poor, there doesn't seem to be any real skill or melody to the guitar accompaniment. The lyrics are poor, a lame rhyme scheme and a large amount of cliche statements. Also I am not at all a fan of Bon Jovi's voice. Honestly I just don't like the song, cant stand the sound of it.
Hmm i guess thats reasonable though the thing about songs that are most loved is that they are simple and basic enough to be loved by a wide audience.
Other songs i know that everyone i know likes are Affirmation and Truly Mady Deeply by Savage Garden. Both are simple and dont get on your nerves too much.

Everybody loves to be rickrolled.
Korobushka? It's a classic Russian folk song with a fun dance, so it's got a lot of historic popularity behind it, even before Tetris brought it to the outside world.
As for modern stuff - Bohemian Rhapsody's got a seemingly timeless and universal appeal, so I'd vote for it. Maybe it's because the song itself makes no real sense, so it can't become dated or anachronistic? That, and it's just such a rockin' classic.
