Should I buy an iPhone?

So I've had this crappy phone for around 3-4 years, and it's starting to die on me. I figured that I'd sign up to a new plan, but I'm not sure what phone I should go with.

I really liked the new Samsung Omnia, but then I started looking at the iPhone, which is on the same plan but the upfront cost is a little more (around $100 I think).

I think it's a case of if I want Mac's propietry operating system, or the latest Windows Mobile operating system. They both look nice, and I am hinting towards the Omnia considering I can run DivX and that I'm not a fan of iTunes (yes I use it for my sister's iPod, and I hate using it).

Does anyone know the pros and cons for these phones? Or perhaps know of other models that are similar? The Blackberry Storm looks very nice, but I haven't read anything about it yet.

Note: In the past, I've only ever seen a phone for what it is: to call and text people. But lately I have been wanting more of a media and communications center in my pocket, considering they are a lot cheaper now.

I don't have a smart phone, but I will say that touchscreens are pretty badass.

Well the thing that I really love about the iPhone is that the touchscreen is just so much more fluid than the Omnia. However, the Storm looks a lot more smarter, imo. Still not sure... Maybe I should just go with basic phone for a few more years...

i have to say, despite what everyone complains about the iPhone, i think theyre pretty nifty.

I tend to not want cellphones because they have too many features I wouldn't use... My current phone has way too much stuff I don't use but it was free. I wouldn't get an iPhone for a plethora of reasons, but if you like the way it looks and what it can do, and don't see those features on other phones, go for it! It's been out for a while now and they keep releasing newer ones though..

I'm a text nazi, and I don't think an iPhone would suit my needs. But its a very nice-looking phone. Movies look awesome and it holds a lot of music, but I prefer Blackberries.

To be honest from reviews I've seen on YouTube, I am not a fan of the design or interface. However the camera features look very nice, but I have an actual camera for that stuff.

The more I see the Omnia, the more the Windows Mobile comes across as clunky and messy looking... I just don't know.

I have an iPhone and I like it. I passed out in my car when driving once (I got to the side of the road and stopped before I went fully under) Once I woke up I was able to find where I was on my map and call my parents to pick me up. I love the applications though, especially there are so many that are free and fun!

Almost everyone I know who has an iphone really really likes it.

I tested it out at the Apple store, but I really didn't like using the touch screen for texting. But apparently you get used to using it efficiently. Have you thought about the new blackberry? People are calling it the iphone killer.

Is that the Storm? It looks very nice, but I saw some reviews where they said the touch screen just can not compete with the iPhone. So I don't know. As long as I can use GPS, music, videos, phone, internet/msn then I am fairly happy I guess!
