Olympic luger killed in crash | NBC Olympics
Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luger, was killed during a practice run for the men's luge event. He was going down the hill at about 90 mph when he crashed, flipped, and hit his head on a steel pole. And what's more sad that this was supposed to be his Olympic debut; sadly, that will not happen.
The Georgian Olympic Team initially decided to withdraw, but later decided to compete to honor him, and the opening ceremony will be dedicated to him.
