St George is the patron saint of Blighty. He's also an important said throughout Europe many countries and cities have adopted the cross (England, Georgia, Genoa, Milan, Barcelona). In fact the only Patron Saint of the Brirish Isles that was actually born on the British Isles was St. David of Wales.
