Just got FF7 last night on a steam sale for like 5 bucks...
Holy crap I'm in love. I havent been playing this game for too longAbout to head to Shinra HQ after Jessie Wedge and Biggs died. Damn... they were awesome. I had a feeling Jessie would die, but not Biggs or Wedge. They were too likable, it was bound to happen. but it's been a long time since a game has kept me playing purely because I love the characters and story and want to see what happens next.
The pacing so far has been solid, as has been the atmosphere and music. This game actually gives you quiet time to let you reflect on what just happened, and that's important. And while the graphics are horrendous, they give the writing some weird sort of charm. Almost as if the bad graphics help? I'm not sure what I'm trying to say. It's strange.
    but also
The battles are pretty enjoyable too, though boss animations can be obnoxiously long at points.
    Eyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Okay, well now that I'm finished with NaNo I actually have time to do important things again like play games.

Played some XCOM: Enemy Within but then ragequit after a little while I know, I know, I'm terribly casual. They didn't add enough new voices anyway. I'll go back to it eventually. Now I feel like playing a grand strategy but I'm not sure which. EU4, CK2 and Vicky 2 are all valid options (to say nothing of Darkest Hour/Kaiserreich).

Looking forward to a Morrowind playthrough once my work schedule evens out a bit.

Just got my PS4 back and started Killzone's campaign. This game is so gorgeous and visceral, with some of the sickest sights and sounds I've seen in a sci fi joint in a while. Also I can't remember another game that put you in a warzone playing as a little kid!

The Last of Us and GTA V..I like both, but am not far enough into either to tell just how much I like them. They seem like great games to me so far though.

I got my new XBox today, so I'm going to go home and start Fallout 3 for the fourth time. I've started it on my ex's PC, my laptop, my sister's XBox and now on my very own XBox. If I have to smurfing start this game over one more time, I'm giving up the ghost on it.

Currently playing La-Mulana on PC. It's an indie platformer / Metroidvania game, supposedly inspiration for Spelunky, which is why I wanted it.

The game throws you into the world with absolutely no help. You have to figure out how everything works through trial-and-error. You have barely any way to heal yourself, so there's constant danger. The save points are few and far between. The puzzles in the game are tough to figure out. Some of them feel like they need to be brute-forced, which I don't like. Some of them were really clever and I felt good after solving them.

The flavor of the game is great so far. It was originally Japanese, but you couldn't tell, because the translation is awesome. The style of the game is clearly a ripoff of Indiana Jones, but whatever. It does it really well.

My biggest gripe is the controls. I don't like the floaty imprecise jumping. Some puzzles, I got stuck on because the controls are so bad that a jump I needed to make didn't seem possible when it actually was.

Word is that La-Mulana 2 is coming next year: http://indiegames.com/2013/09/la-mul..._still_di.html. It'll be "difficult as ever" but "less confusing".
