the decrease in height is caused by the Nucleus Pulposus (mucky solution) being pushed out of the Annulus Fibrosis, caused by the pressure being upright sets on your spinal disc. It's an ingenious way of converting a pushing force into a stretching force, and in a large person is about a cm difference over a day. It needs about 8 hours for every 16 hours to regenerate through osmosis.

Yes, but my point is that it's kinda silly to be all, "OMG YOU ARE WRONG IMPOSSIBLE!!!" when it's more like, sometimes I'm a bit over 5'2 and sometimes I'm right around 5'3. Sorry I didn't go and measure my exact height down to the centimeter. Wowza.
