I tend to agree with Boobies. Non-caged animals are superior pets. Though bunnies are really cute and their ownership can be justified on that basis.
Buns don't have to be kept in cages. Some people just let them run free and cage them at night. I am hoping that Rob is one of these people.
I let the chinchilla run around all day and he gets along fine with the cats and dogs and he doesn't get into things or eat the cardboard on the floor or anything. We only put him in the cage at night because he got out through a window once that we didn't know had an opening in it. Otherwise he would be out and about all day
