I still have barely any idea as to who she is...
Eyyyyyyyyyyyyy
You have no one to blame but yourself for that. This is the age of the internet! Google that trout.
Also Breine, don't tell me how to be offended. I'm American! You're just foreign scum. RAGRG
How can people talk about family values and decency on TV when Jersey Shore is still being broadcast..
GoDaddy still has commercial slots. There was a car commercial this year that bordered on softcore porn. I cannot concieve of how this deserves apology over the commercials they allow to air. Seems pretty ridiculous to single this blurb out as offensive amidst all the rest of the madness. It's like slapping a kid five times, stealing his bike, fondling his mom, and then apologizing for calling his dog dumb.
Related note: If you invite MIA on your stage, you shoulda seen this coming.
Semi-related: I don't understand how on earth anyone can still claim that Janet Jackson's nip slip was an accident. It happened at the climax to the song, she was wearing a pasty (why? It wasn't like her outift was sheer or anything.) and the damned boob-panel pretty much came off like it was velcroed on. Probably most damning to me, she continued to stand there looking all serious-music-star-pose. I dunno about anyone else, but if I was on stage an someone ripped off a chunk of my pants and my junk flopped out, I'm fairly certain I would notice and react with a hearty "oh s---!"
The show must go on!
Kefka's coming, look intimidating!
Have a nice day!!
Wait this is actually a big deal outside of this thread too? I know humans as a species give ridiculously meaning to random things but I am somewhat reminded of the Elder in Shumi Village showing Squall his hands like it's actually a big deal. I mean c'mon team. If I hold up my hand and put down all fingers except the middle one than the only meaning in that is whatever the smurf you take from it.
She's probably like this because she's a bit black or whatever, right SM?
Entertainment has never been wholesome or family oriented.
You think a rude gesture is bad? Look back through the 60's-90's and see just how many songs were about drugs and sex reaching the tops of the charts.
Look at all the 'childrens programing' that has some of the most perverted lines of dialogue.
Things like this happening have always been there norm. There is always outcrys of 'moral indecency that's destroying our country', and nothing has yet to happen.
No, entertainment has never been completely wholesome, but for some reason, it seems to be getting worse. It seems as though a lot of music and television stars seems to lack a sense of decency. Today, it seems that shock is the norm, rather than the exception; I'm aware that shock value has always been around, but it seems more common now than in the past.
On a side note, personally, I hate Jersey Shore and all of MTV's stupid (un-)reality shows.
Is that your final answer?
If SuperMillionaire had been around in the 50s, he would have labelled rock and roll as the devil's music.
"Excuse me Miss, do you like pineapple?"
Who doesn't hate Jersey Shore and the like? The moral of this thread, SuperMillionaire, is simple:
You are on the internet: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy so having morals over someone putting their finger up (in which isn't technically a swearing gesture to all. Us Brits use a alternative of 2 fingers in a V) is not gonna wash with the rest of the population. It's not news and it's no where near as shocking and abhorent as you have described
Honestly, I wish more people gave the finger to Super Bowl viewers.
