Mash the roll button when you drop, if timed correctly you will roll instead of getting the drop-stun animation and gives to time to heal. As for the explosion; in the Asylum an old comrade drops something with a very high magic resistance stat. Helps really well against big pink demon explosions!smurfing stray demon. The fall takes away half of my HP and then the stupid explosion always kills me
