Default How much does Gamestop buy used Xbox 360 games for?

My xbox just got the red ring of death and all of my friends have PS3's. So i am planning to sell all of my games and buy a PS3. I have 34 xbox 360 games and 2 original xbox games. Some are very new games but others are fairly old. I know that how much they buy each for depends on what game it is but i was just wondering what a rough estimate of how much I will get for each game.

Ask Freya. She works at a Gamestop.

You will get, at most, 10$ per video game. Many will sell for half of that price, but you may own one or two that will sell for 10$. Gamestop will then turn around and sell them at a 300% markup price.

Yeah, GameStop gives you peanuts for your used games. I've seen people walk in there and sell games for $1 and $2 before. Then GameStop turns around and sells them for $17.99.

When I sell games, I sell them on eBay. It's good money, way more than you'll get selling them to any used retailer, be it GameStop, Best Buy, Hastings, Blockbuster etc.

Then again, for the most part you can find way better deals buying games online than you can at GameStop, too.

Well, let's see... A £40 game typically has a day one trade in price of about 36 pence... 34 games, probably not brand new, so half it... so about £6. A good option, if you have the time, is to start a price war between multiple stores and see how high you can raise the amount. Two competing stores, each with a price match guarantee? Easy money.

Or you can use the maximum offered as a base, and then sell them on ebay or some such for more than that.

If you just wanna get rid of them quick, an average of £5 per game is usually fairly accurate, and I assume American stores use the same tactics. If they don't offer you more than $50, just rob the store.

Gamestop doesn't do the price match thing. It's their price or nothing. If you can find someplace that does it, go for that tactic.

I've seen some people get fairly decent cash by putting the whole lot at one shot on Craigslist, especially if most of the games are either well known or fairly rare. The former gets frat boys all excited, the latter you could probably get more cash from a smaller pool of interested folk.
