Clearly a bot thread, but what the heck, I'll give it a go.

3 of my favorite comedians are Bill Cosby, Gallagher, and Lewis Black.

I applaud whoever banned the bot and wrote Get the smurf out. That's just precious.

    These guys.

Also, including "traditional" comedy and physical comedy as well as stand-up, Bill Hicks, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, George Burns, Chris Farley, Dan Akroyd, Don Knotts, Chevy Chase, Jim Carrey, Steve Martin, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, John Cleese, Christopher Titus, John Ritter, Rowan Atkinson, Rick Mayall and Adrian Edmonson, Jackie Gleason, John Belushi, John Candy, Don Adams, Rodney Dangerfield, Jack Benny, Eddie Murphy, The Marx Brothers, the Howward brothers (Three Stooges), Bill Murray, Fatty Arbuckle, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Mae West, Fred Willard, Don Rickles, Flip Wilson, Dick van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Carol Burnett, Tim Conway, Dom DeLuise, Ralphie May, John Pinette, Lorne Michaels, Johnny Carson, Eddie Izzard, Woody Allen, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Phyllis Diller, Andy Kaufman, Jeff Foxworthy (and the other guys from Blue Collar Comedy Tour), Lily Tomlin, Jonathon Winters, Robin Williams, Jerry Lewis, Steve Carrell, Tina Fey, dozens of people who have been cast members on Saturday Night Live throughout the years whose names I can't remember, Billy Crystal, Jane Lynch, Steven Wright, Foster Brooks, pretty much anyone who was on the dais of a Dean Martin or Friars' Club roast, and probably at least a few dozen more people that aren't fresh in my mind.

    I probably missed a lot.

I love you for making these three the first on your list. You couldn't have picked a better selection to lead off with.

I'm not really anywhere near as familiar with comedy as you are. But yeah, Carlin and Hicks in particular are probably my all-time favourites.

Other great ones include Lewis Black, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Monty Python, Tom Lehrer, Dave Chappelle and probably a ton of others I'm forgetting.

Just curious, but what was that all off the top of your head?

Also, if you had to narrow down some favorites, who would they be?
