Eat more, get more energy. That was my ultimate claim, Julian. You helpfully corrected my assumption about the metabolism nonsense, but the principle was the same. Phelps is unusual in pretty much every regard, so he just lumps all his food into three meals, but it's common practice to eat the same amount over 5 or 6 meals. This is what the typical athlete does, hence my claim that eating more often can benefit athletes.
