I think they're good, but overrated in terms of music quality but not in terms of influence.

THANK YOU
AND GOODNIGHT. THREAD WON.Good call. Aneka still tops it though.
Your other post makes me wonder if Danielle is just a hallucination of mine, and you are the 40 year old virgin.
Say the Wurzel's at Ciderfest month back. Had to borrow a pick off them. Good times.
eh. Lost logic to make a point. excellent. I'm aware you can't please every little reactionary hater out there & I'm also aware that grestness is not measured in mass appeal alone. However we're not talking about mass appeal alone nowe are we. It's all about the music, the legacy & the influence on others. THe Stones stand tall on all three, on a par with the Beatles ad I'm sure they'd be just as respected by little ball roots if Jagger got shot dead too.
Anywat British band influenced music like no other nation. There's been bands and singers from the US that are true legends however when you look at the sheer amount of British bands that left a lasting legacy in music it's staggering,
Beatles, Stones, The Kinks, Zed Zep, The Who, Bowie, Queen, The Pistols, Sabbath, Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Radiohead on and on and on.
However if i had to pick one that stands above all others it would definately be Chumbawomba

I just like a variety of music. I would say enjoying a wider variety of music increases your chances of getting laid, anyway, considering you can get on with most people when it comes to their musical tastes and can socialise easier when it comes to all kinds of musical interests. It's worked for me so far! Still can't enjoy thrash/death metal, though I can on occasion manage to find it amusing at the very least. Don't think I could ever like people with voices that make my skin crawl, either. Like Macey Gray. =|
More to the point, though: C'mon, I'm not 40!
Bow before the mighty Javoo!
like the smiths, hate morrissey? check out "colin meloy sings morrissey." the entire album is just, well, great.
i like radiohead and muse. the beatles and floyd need not be mentioned as they have already cemented their legacy.
Chants "Maiden" over and over.
To think of British music I really think to 70s and 80s bands, the era Britain pretty much invented heavy rock and heavy metal.
We've had the likes of Led Zeppelin, Billy Idol, Queen, Def Leppard, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, Saxon, Motorhead. I mean hell, we also had ERASURE from these parts, do you guys realise how amazing it would've been to just have them play the Robot Unicorn song!? Awesome levels would have been through the roof but no. Sad times. =(
My favourite band is either Judas Priest or Black Sabbath or even Motorhead out the lot but we needed Erasure.
LET THE HAMMER FALL
Did someone say Kasabian already? How about James, or Pulp? I like those guys too.
