I don't really care about the Signs argument, because I liked the movie when I saw it years ago, but further evidence they're idiots: We have extremely straightforward technology based on really simple physical properties that allow us to determine the types of weather systems on planets we have never stepped foot on, without even sending remote probes to explore them. It's stuff we've been doing since the '60s with remote sensing and even further back terrestrially. In the movie, people clearly stated that they knew to stay away from lakes, etc etc. Obviously they must have known that the majority of earth is water. I don't think they expected the humans to know to use it against them, though.

The aliens in Signs are incredibly stupid. This is not up for debate. They're stupid. Stupid dumb dumbs.
I enjoyed the film, nonetheless. My favourite parts were when Joaquin Phoenix was on-screen.
as long as that doesn't turn out like that Kevin Costner suckfest i'd be cool with that.
