Choose wisely!
Natural disaster. Invasion. Apocalypse. You need to be evacuated immediately and you have about five smurfing seconds to grab one thing and one thing only from your house to bring with you. We'll assume that family members and pets, etc are taken care of and you're headed to some place to find shelter and food. One possession of yours you get to pick to bring with you and nothing else. What do you snag?
I think I'd have to grab my photo album out of my nightstand drawer to take with me. That or my "special memorabilia" box with every little special thing I've tried to save in my life.

Ooh! Hmm, probably my Cass Daley collection! Been collecting for years, and I'd be damn if zombie... just no!
-
Shoes. Being barefoot forevermore would suck.
-
The beat up photo albums I've had since a child along with all of the loose pictures wedged into the side of the box.
-
There's too many things. I'll just stay put thank you.

I can't think of anything sentimental I have which I would take. All my photos are on my laptop, so I guess I would take that.

Teddy, the teddy bear I have had since I was four.

My ass-kicking boots. Tsunami, commie or filthy zombie; if it has a rear side, it's gonna get a boot up it. KEE-YAH!
-
my son's container of stuff. He'll at least have plenty of clothes to keep him warm and enough diapers to last us till we can find more somewhere.
-
It's the end of the world as you know it and most of you are grabbing sentimental things?
My Leatherman multi-tool or a roll of duct tape thank you very much.

Ladies don't keep tools or duct tape or axes or katanas or even golf clubs, Vivi.
-
Good thing I'm not a lady then. Apparently gender required sentimentality would get me killed.

Like a true nerd, my external hard drive. I CAN'T LOSE MY VAST PORN COLLECTION.
edit: More for serious, probably a gun or my smartphone. :x Gun for obvious reasons. Smartphone for the Kindle app so I have something to read and possibly the internet if for whatever reason that infrastructure was spared.
