To actually answer this: An 8inch stalk of celery contains 6 calories, it isn't the chewing/swallowing what burns the calories but the digestion of the tough cellulose. However when you consider Celery doesn't actually taste great most people serve it with some kind of condiment which then causes the celery to stop being a negative calorie food. When properly prepared, you can add: Cauliflower, Cucumber and Spinach amongst others to this list.
Ultimately however it takes an exertion of 3500 calories to burn just a single pound of fat. Therefore if we assume it takes 20 calories to digest an 8 inch stalk of celery compared to the 6 it contains, this means you're going to have to eat: roughly 227.5 8 inch Celery stalks to burn a single pound of fat.
(SPOILER)(3500/20 = 175. 175*6 = 1050, 4550/20 = 227.5) Oh and in that time you cannot eat anything else nor drink anything else.
