For me it depends on the underlying thought behind the piercing.
Is it "I'm confident enough in myself and what I enjoy to dress in ways I see fit. The musicians I like and my friends have contributed to this being a normal part of fashion".
or is it "I really hate my dad".
edit: Most people in group 2 will argue to the death that they are in group 1.
