My New Year's Kiss was my ex. Don't try to act surprised.
I had her stay over and we were in bed when the fireworks started (not speaking figuratively, though those fireworks went off as well), she had her eyes closed when I called her name and leaned in for the kiss. Personal superstition that your New Year would start off well if you kissed during the fireworks. I was wrong, but that's another story.
