Morrowind Thread - No N'wahs or Fetchers Allowed

Okay now that I've got that out of the way

Here's my character from my current playthough, he looks ridiculous and it's great:

I have a Golden Saint soul sitting around in my inventory and once I have enough money I'm going to enchant the Daedric Tower Shield I have lying around and it's going to be so overpowered and ridiculous.

Let us talk about Morrowind, my friends.

Just started, really. I have entered Balmora, but not done anything. I'm in full Dark Brotherhood gear, with a starry Expensive Skirt. Sounds poncy, but it looks pretty cool.

I'm a Breton under the Atronach sign, because smurf yeah magicka, and I'm desperately trying to grind a little to get my Endurance and Agility up. I've had no luck running into enemies I can actually take on, however, so I'm still at level 1. I made a custom class but I can't remember the skills I chose. It's called "Sage Warrior", though, and I made an entire backstory regarding their history and eventual decline at the hands of a united Tamrielic army.

This game is sodding excellent, and I am extremely happy to be playing a very customisable game that doesn't drag me around by the nose. I really like the journal; it's written out as a journal would be, day by day, and it adds a surprising degree of immersion and realism to the game. I don't have a quest log that clearly marks each individual quest, I just have the notes that I made at the time as information made itself available.

My laptop still chugs away a bit, but the game runs at a playable framerate, so I'm happy. Haven't gone on a silt strider yet!

Yes, he's a Dunmer, like 99% of my characters.

I prefer the Redas Robe of Deeds for that constant 50 point feather.

Dropping mofos with the crescent blade and laughing at them while they're paralyzed watching me slash away and tear their limbs up.

That Curiass of The Savior's Hide/Boots of Blinding Speed for convenience.

Fists of Randagulf for strength and agility

Funny though...the visible pieces of armor are just plain dwemer and imperial silver. I just like the endurance modifier for leveling up, and having a high heavy armor stat never hurts later on.

I haven't had the time to REALLY make him overpowered and broken. Everytime I get to the part where I have to unite the Great Houses and Ashlander Tribes, I stop playing for a while, lol. Currently on my way to the Zainab camp.

What are you looking at? Pike's screenshot looks incredible. The game is darned pretty with all the graphical overhauls.

I recently spent all my money making a Resist Magicka spell in preparation for the Boots of Blinding Speed. It's next on my to do list!

The Morrowind Overhaul art direction is beautiful, as is Morrowind vanilla. The story is also the best story in videogames. I'm playing Oblivion right now and I just wanna go back to Morrowind (and I will in a few minutes)

I guess he expects mod makers to be able to perform bigger miracles on a ten year old game with a troutty engine? Looks pretty good considering Bethesda aren't very good at things like coding or making their game look good to begin with. Certainly better than vanilla Morrowind.

And Pike, every time I see you playing Morrowind I realize how much I want the game to have some sort of co-op mode so we can quest together.
