Rantz thought it up, and I know that Murd and I both think it's perfect. Jiro is babyfaced, capable of putting in hard work and is full of heart/spirit, just like Jon Snow (at least, the Jon Snow I know). They are both perfectly capable of challenging the system when they feel it is needed, too. They both have their troubles with the world, and as Rantz put it rather well, Jiro "left us for the Wall". If you know Jiro well, you'll probably find all kinds of similarities between the two. Only difference I can think of is that Jiro can put on a happy face better than Jon Snow can - although that may be just the actor who I relate Jon Snow to. Not sure about the later books as I've not read that far in.
