Rikku's personality is definitely the best fit for Tidus, but I went with Lulu because I think she is the better character of the three.
Edit: Lulu is really not that great either. Rikku is a bit annoying and Yuna is extremely boring. Lulu is also boring, but she has one sexy goth style about her. So I'm busted..Lulu was chosen because of her looks!

That happens in Guadosalam, and if an invisible stat called compatibility is higher with Rikku than Lulu, you also have the chance to hit on her instead, and she replies with "Maybe someday" in Al Bhed. You can read a FAQ about compatibility and all the things it affects on GameFAQs if you want.
Now that I think about it though I do remember my first playthrough of FFX talking with Lulu in Macalania and saying "Actually you're more my type Lulu" and she replying with "huh... Maybe I'll have to put you on my list"
But yeah, basically all the girls have shown some interest in Tidus.

If I were Tidus, as in, if I were in his position, I would have gone for Yuna (and yes that's my vote :P) because she's amazing and I love her <3.
If I were Tidus, as in, his personality and all... maybe I would have chosen Rikku. I think Tidus/Rikku pairings (two innocent, naive, and enthusiastic people) are cute.
That being said, I loved Tidus/Yuna. I wish their story was a little more fleshed out, so that I could see how they were meant for each other (and in some ways I do see that, and how that could have worked out. Strength/Weaknesses and all that), rather than just crushes who came together?-- but I guess it's hard with all the world-to-be-saved scenes that takes priority.
I would take Yuna no matter being Tidus or not.
So, I finally have some competition for Yuna, eh?
