    Friday The 13th

Today is Friday the 13th and so how many of you are quivering in your boots with your Triskaidekaphobia?

Talking about fear of this date, what other superstitions do you hold even a semblance of belief by? Or, are you just all rational and balk at such silly thoughts?

I have a phobia of chewing gum if that counts for anything. I can't think much in the way of superstitious things at the moment. I'm sure there were some when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure I at least liked to pretend that Friday the 13th was a time where scary stuff would happen just because I've always liked getting scared a little.

So far, I have spent the day looking for friends and family that are currently experiencing a biblical flood. Kind of amusing if you're into that sort of thing though.

I only believe in one superstition. I believe that if I were to believe in any superstition at all, I would believe in it so strongly that my mind power would make it physically manifest itself as bad juju, and other superstitions would constantly be making life worse for me, at no fault of my own. Windows and mirrors shattering as I walk past them, ladders falling and landing in front of me while I'm walking, black cats materializing in front of me to cross my path, some guy following me around with salt and pepper shakers to place next to me when I'm about to move so I knock them over, not having any wood to knock on when I need to, an umbrella opening itself indoors as I hold it, hats appearing on my head as I go to bed, dogs howling around me everywhere I go, getting out of bed on the wrong side, hearing a rooster crow at night...

Good thing I don't believe in any superstitions, right?

No, see, because you can believe in a lot of superstitions but only have some of them be actually correct. For instance, they could all be correct except that one.

I just dread the months of April and October. Something bad always happens in April, and October is usually something life-changing in one way or another.

I dread the month of March because it's always the busiest month for me. My calendars can attest to this.
