Halfway through season 2. She shows up once after that. This is including the 12 or so episodes they removed for the original English dub.
Like a lot of shounen type shows, there are powers they pulled out of their asses that they never use again. It's mostly the result of filler needing to keep people interested.
What I always hated was that even when the other girls got their turn in the spotlight, Sailor Moon *somehow* always seemed to show up and steal the show again. Well, not always, but a lot of the time.
Well, toward the end of the second season the main antagonist does corrupt her and turn her into a super powered baddie. An arc of the story which was very cool in my opinion.Originally Posted by Kyle

And then in the last season they completely wrote her out of the show.
Umino and Naru had an episode during the fourth season (Super S) seemingly out of nowhere. If I recall correctly that's the last time we ever see them. Haruna disappeared after the first season.
I always assumed we could chalk it up to the fact that they're progressing through middle school and in the case of the last season, to high school. Friends would come and go, and they certainly wouldn't have the same teacher anymore.

I just watched the trailer for Sailor Moon Crystal. When she said "MOOOOOOOON PRISAMUU POWAAAAA MAKUU UP!" and realized it's her original voice actress, I screamed.
It looks so different from the other one. More grown up, closer to the manga. They also got rid of those heart shapes on their planetary symbols, apparently.
