Yes, even badder then the power glove.

From those who just look like bad ass's, to those who preform extra-ordinary feets of bad assery, and those who stand strong against mighty odds, this is the proving Ground for the greatest of all the Bad Ass's.

I would have a longer intro for this, but I am tired, busy, and I'm still waiting on some issues with the images, so that is all you get.

To kick off some discussion....

1. Faris (FF V) Vs. Gordan Freeman (Half Life)

Yeah, I never played Half Life, so honestly I don't know what to say about Gordan Freeman here, someone needs to make a case for him over Faris for me.

2.Lighting (Final Fantasy XIII) Vs. Jade (Beyond Good and Evil)
Yeah, if this list were purely my own choices, LIghting would not be on it, but I know some people like her and think she's bad ass, and while I know little about Jade from beyond good and evil, I am leaning towards her here.

3. Murmina (Record of the Agarest War) Vs. Cloud (Final Fantasy VII)
Yeah, I wouldn't have included Cloud either had he not had a fan base. Murmina wins this one for me for the strength of her motivation, and willingness to fight alone against the forces that destroyed her home. Plus she's a winged girl with a gun.

4. Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) Vs. Dunban (Xenoblade Chronicles)
Lara never had much character to me, so while she goes through a lot of trout, she never struck me as a very bad ass.

5. John Marston (Red Dead Redemption) Vs. Samus Aron (Metroid)
Never played Red Dead, and while the same is true for Samus (I am ignoring the last Metroid game here) never having much character, she does make up for it for running through alien worlds in a high powered robot suit. Though yeah, I could be convinced otherwise on tis one.


6. Conker (Conkers Bad Fur Day) Vs. Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid)
I never liked Metal Gear, but I do think SNake is quite hardcore. Though Conker accomplished all he did after a drunk night with a hangover, and unlike Snake he's not really a combat guy. Just some dude fighting his way through some insane odds. Conker wins this one for me.



7. Sly Cooper (Sly Cooper Series) Vs. Keithgriff (Atelier Ayesha: Alchemist of Dusk)
Smooth and cool Racoon thief, vs. Old grizzled Alchemist who destroyed state research labs because other so called Alchemists weren't as hardcore as he was and no longer deserved the knowledge. Props to Sly, but it goes to my boy Keithgriff.


8. KOS-MOS (Xenosaga) Vs. Dekar (Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinestrals)
Okay, Robot chick with giant gatling guns, lasers, swords, and some serious kung-fu skills. Even if her story was bad, come on! How can you compete? Sorry Dekar.

9. Sabin (FF VI) Vs. Nathan Drake (Uncharted)
Yeah, held up a house and suplexed a train. This isn't even a contest. :

10. Naoto (Persona IV) Vs. Arcade Ganon (Fallout: New Vegas)
Arcade Gannon goes out like a boss no matter what his ending is in New Vegas, dudes hard core as smurf, though I would spoil all his endings to explain why, so I won't here. Naoto of Persona 4 puts everything on the line for her work, knowingly throwing herself into dangers she knows little of, jeopardizing both her future as a detective and her life. Compared to most people on this list, Naoto has a lot she is striving to overcome.

11. Hakuman (BlazBlu) Vs. Akuma (Street Fighter)
Akuma is pretty hard core, the Street Fighter most obesses with furthering his own power, though This quote wins it for Hakuman. "I am the white void. I am the cold steel. I am the just sword. With blade in hand, shall I reap the sins of this world and cleanse it in the fires of destruction! I am Hakumen. The end has come!" That line sends a chill down my spine every time.


12. Auron (Final Fantasy X) Vs. Citan (Xenogears)
You know, I actually do like Auron, desptie my dislike of FF X. Though Citan manages to out cool and calm him, and takes far riskier actions. So close, but Citan wins out on this one.

13. Ashe (FF XII) Vs. Kratos (God of War)
As much as I like Kratos, in the end Ashe's struggle has a lot more punch, so she takes the bad ass award here.

14. Nina (Breath of Fire 2) Vs. Heichachi Mishima (Tekken Series)
Heihachi is awesome. Dude gives people electrified Noogies, and he's in a constant state of hatred and smashing. Oh, also, end of Tekken two he defeats the devil. Kazuya, his son, survived being thrown off a Mountain by signing his soul the devil. Heihachi get's thrown off a mountain, stands back up, and comes back and kids Kazuya's demon posssed ass and kills the smurfer.

Nina, however, takes this round for me. She puts up with no one's trout, just see her introduction where she just shocks this poor sap trying to get her to join their gang. She doesn't even consider her own wellfare in her fight for others, and without hesitation was willing to sacrifice herself to become the great bird. Sorry Heihachi, Nina takes this one.


15. Bayonetta (Bayonetta) Vs. Zero (Megaman X series)
She slaughters angles to a pop remix of Frank Sinatra's Fly me to the moon. Sorry Zero, shear awesome of that wins out.

16. Beatrix (FF IX) Vs. Cervantes (Soul Calibur)
Zombie Pirate is smurfing awesome by definition, but obvious reasons here for Beatrix winning out I feel.

Warrior of Dawn chosen by Fire, withstands the void.

2. Eclair

Savior who almost alone can fight the Creator God of Light and proves him to not be allmighty, on par with Cloud when he is at full power, stonger than him when he is not at full power. Would have become even more powerful than ever by becoming the ruler of chaos, the Goddess of Death, which she hasn't in the end as shewould have needed to sacrifice her life to win and then won with the others and someone else decided to ascend to the God of Death and so she could finally live in peace.

3. Cloud

On par with Zack normally, the most powerful hero when he is at full power - only against Sephiroth as it is a storyline Limit Break where everything in his life he loves that he is fighting for mobilizes all of his power so he can at least overwhelm Sephiroth when he shows his weakness of arrogance again.

7. Keithgriff (Atelier Ayesha: Alchemist of Dusk)

The most powerful Atelier character storywise, next to Gio and Gisela.

9. Mash (FF VI)

He never played wrestling with a train that probably has no weight at all but he is a great martial artist and his physical abilities such as holding a part of a hosue for a while are impressive.

11. Akuma (Street Fighter)

Most powerful Street Fighter character next to Bison, uses the Dark Hadou. Probably on par with Ryu but Ryu needed help from Ken with Bison.

13. Kratos (God of War)

Is the god of war. Ashe knows magic but is nothing special in her world.

15. Cereza (Bayonetta)

Used a Super Nova against Jubileus, the Creator Goddess as her dark magic is powerful on a Dragon Ball scale. She did not summon it however. She just used her weaving to throw Jubileus into the sun. Still she was strong enough to defeat her with her magic.

16. Cervantes (Soul Calibur)

Is an undying who even turned into Inferno by the power of the Soul Edge, which is one of the two super powers created by Algol.

Apparently this is not just about power but I still leave it how it is (and it is still a power list). When it comes to who I like the most, it is Eclair and then Cloud.

YEah, if this was just about power I wouldn't bothered running it. KOS-MOS could pretty much waste everyone else on this list with little to no effort.

Agreed, some might give her trouble, but she'd win in the end.

Then you don't know Lightning and Cloud's canonical power at their fullest. But Neo said "could pretty much" anyway. Kos-mos is like Eve and Creed from Black Cat and but that's it.

1) In response to Sephiroth bizarrely editing his post with a reply rather then replaying, I'll give you I didn't play into XIII-2 or lighting returns, so I can't say for sure about her power, but no way in hell can cloud beat KOS-MOS. XD

As you are ignoring all officially published material with its intended context which very clearly show how powerful they are. Lightning almost became the Goddess of Deatn by fighting Bhunivelze, a universe-destroyer and Sephiroth, who was so powerful that he needed some plot device to be beaten by some DBZ power like "the good guys must win so let's make the hero stronger when he fights for his friends" gives him the power to overwhelm a shapeshifter who can regenerate, reunite, cast the most destructive magical spells, has the greatest psychic powers, can read minds, et cetera. Cloud was stated and is also very obviously weaker than Sephiroth and he still managed to beat him. Even if Kos-mos would have general powers that put her above, that does not make her better than Cloud with his Son-Gohan powers and that is how things must be rated, with full power and all options. "Chaos", and "sacrifice" and "regenerative powers" are really nothing new in Final Fantasy. Cloud and Sephiroth's battles are David VS Goliath situations, he can defeat enemies that are normally stronger than him. And Bayonetta as well, by the way.

Believe me, the way they are canonically, they are stronger. They are not the trademarks without reason and some fancy skills cannot impress them, they have seen better with Barthandelus, Orphan, Caius, Bhunivelze and Sephiroth.
