The Atelier series has a very similiar combat system to Final Fantasy X when it comes to standing around and planning your moves, plus it has extras in battle
Kingdom Hearts
Mana Series
Dargon Quest
If you go for Final Fantasy's soul = story then I also recommend non RPG titles like Silent Hill or the Last of Us.
Any RPG title, probably.
You would have to define what it is about FF you like so much for me to give recommendations.
If I am being general, probably Breath of Fire and Chrono series. Anything else would require a bit more input.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.
Really depends on the platforms you have access to. I would say that final fantasy and the tales series are pretty linked. Lots of RPGs on PlayStation formats as well.
