Before that it was an Atari Flashback and before that an Xbox 360.

That's not disturbing, as long as the console gave its consent.
Consoles are pretty advanced these days, I'm sure they're smart enough to give consent if they so wish.

Umm... I think the last console I actually bought was a Nintendo DS Lite, preowned. I don't tend to buy my own consoles; I mooch off other people instead.
PS Vita. I bought PlayStation Plus for PS4 multiplayer and because it's generally just a great deal for all the free games. About two months in, I had accumulated so many enticing indies and exclusives for Vita, I felt like I really had no choice but to get one. My only complaint is that I'm still drowning in games for it - I think Limbo just came out and it's gotten harder and harder to choose which game is going to get the boot from my 16th card every time this happens!
I think I acquired my 3DS most recently, PS3 before that.

Yeah, it was the Wii U. We got my 3DS before that, and the PS3 before that.
Considering my love for Nintendo, I would have liked it to have played it more. We've only played through Super Mario 3D world on it so far. Mario Kart 8 is coming out in 2 weeks though, so it's going to get a lot more playtime though.
I got my Nintendo 3DS as an anniversary gift from my GF. Before that, it was a PS3. Technically, I did finally have a friend help me build a new computer but since I have yet to game on it, I don't count it.

Last console I got was the PlayStation 3 last Christmas. Came with The Last of Us and Batman Arkham Origins in the box.
