If you thought of your past lives as a circus, you'd find yourself wondering if you were a ring leader or a lion tamer. People rarely ever see themselves as the person who shoveled the animal's crap out of the pens, which is statistically more likely what they would have been doing. The you that "might have been" is probably not on Wikipedia.
When I was fifteen I went to Macedonia on a school trip, to the site of Alexander the Great's palace. For the first time in my life I felt... I felt I was home. This was a place where I belonged.
