I know this is a bit of a polarizing game but I think a lot of people liked the setting itself. Do you want to see more games set in and around Spira? (not necessarily sequels)

Generally yes. I love Spira and its history. I would prefer the time and effort rather being spent on entirely new entries, however.
To answer the above question: As I love the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, yes.
And Final Fantasy X as well.
I don't care about which universe it is in, but I wouldn't mind to revisit spira in a game that isn't very strongly connected to the storyline of FFX/X2.

I would like to see another post-Sin Spira game.
Maybe set a few generations in the future. Possibly it could set up a connection w/ VII, but that wouldn't be necessary.
I'd also like to see a prequel, based on the journey of Braska, Jecht & Auron.
I definitely do not want it to set up any more connections to 7 than the terrible ones that have already been set up.

A game that takes place during the Machina War 1000 years prior to the start of X proper would be nice to see. Or maybe even a game that details events that lead up to the Machina War.
Spira would be a very different world.
I would like to see how the people of Zanarkand and Bevelle lived and also watch how Bevelle implemented its religion based off of the war. It would be great to see how the people were before Spira became the Yu Yevon worshipers who were left in the dark and to see machina that was more freely accepted.
I would also love to see how the Al Bhed fit in. I imagine if they were there they weren't discriminated against. How did they fit in to the war, if at all. Also, seeing so many summoners from Zanarkand would be neat. Maybe the playable characters could have a lot of summoners who specialize in certain summons. Maybe summoning worked differently in the past and we could see a different kind of summoner/aeon bond
I would be interested in seeing how the people of the past regarded the Farplane. Everybody in the games has such a casual attitude towards what is literally (maybe) the afterlife in a physical location.
Hmmm...I'm not sure it could work. We already got to explore the world twice in FFX and FFX-2. If there are too many environments seen in either game it would seem stale. If there are too many new environments it might feel like they should have made a new FF or RPG out of it.
I feel that X's Spira has been explored very deeply and in a satisfying way, and so I wouldn't see the appeal in another game set in that time period. However, Spira has a very rich history that could be delved into - similar to Ivalice - and I could understand and might enjoy games set in different eras.
