So what are your thoughts on the infamous Peninsula of Power? Did you abuse it to make the early part of the game easier? Do you think it was intentional or accident? Did you even know it existed?

True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
I read that it came by accident. The way the monsters are programmed to appear is based on a grid system. They made the peninsula jut a little too far north.
I liked using it. When I discovered it, it was so awesome to fight monsters I'd have yet to see. Then they kicked my butt.
It is only considered abuse if the game didn't already abuse me first.
And hell yes, I used it. Knowing the monsters were potentially lethal also helped keep me focused while grinding. I find it interesting that it persists in the remakes, despite most other bug being fixed.

good point Velo.
I've used it before, but it's not something I've done every time I've played. Depends on if I'm trying to blitz through the game for some reason or another.
I've known about if forever and checked it out once, but it's not something I'm very interested in.
...
What... what is this new devilry? Would it help me in my struggle to complete this bastard game?
I use it most of the time, just so I can walk through the damn marsh cave.
I really hate that place. >_<
I imagine it must be a surprise to people who go there unprepared and almost out of health from previous battles
I can't remember if that happened to me or not.
Yeah I can't remember my first encounter with it and what I thought of it, but I'm pretty sure I abused it in the end. Much like that one hallway in the volcano where there's nothing but giants for the first time. They gave more experience than most monsters of the time, so I just walked up and down that hallway for an hour before continuing
Heck yes I use it!
If the Elfheim Grind (that should be a dance) wasn't such a pain in the rear, then I probably wouldn't use it and try to play it fair. But because they expect you to spend 2-3 hours leveling up with monsters that soon give you too little experience and Gil for your purposes... screw it, I want to enjoy myself!
I wish I knew it existed when I was a kid. I basically use it all the time because it saves times on levels and money that I am going to grind anyway. The fact that it is in remakes is telling on how useful/popular it is.
