I won a lot of academic awards up through 10th grade. I skipped a year in math, and I remember my friend being so excited she got a "High Honors" award for the proficiency test. I showed her my "Highest Honors" award and she was mad as a bug. After 10th grade though my academic career was all bees in the wind.
I won one of those raffles in middle school where they just do a generic drawing of the little "OMG you did something nice, here's a piece of paper" things. I picked a teddy bear with a Christmas sweater. I think I finally threw that ratty old bear out recently, but I kept his sweater. smurfing nice sweater, that.
Going further back, I went to the same elementary school for K-6. By 4th grade I had never once received a "Citizen of the Month" award, despite being a smurfing angel. Fortunately, I figured out the system. My poor fourth grade teacher, for the first few months I was pretty troutty. My mom kept getting called in for conferences like "WTF!" I got detention for the first time. And then a few more times. ...And then I went back to normal. And you're smurfing right I was Citizen of the Month that month.
