How do you feel about the most of holidays?
It's so sweet, I love it
Well, chocolate is involved, so it can't be all THAT bad...
I have no opinion either way.
I don't like it, but only because I'm single.
It's kinda dumb, but oh well.
WORST HOLIDAY EVER, IT'S RAMPANT CONSUMERISM GONE MAD!

I wouldn't say I love it but I like it. Each to their own. What annoys me more about Valentines Day are the people who give the same old 'oh it's just a commercial money maker' - oh bore off.
I realized I forgot to add an "other" option so I added one for you guys. xD
I love it! It's a nice sweet romantic day for couples to give each other cute little chocolates and teddies and snuggle while watching bad movies and if you're single then you can just veg out with bad movies and chocolate or friends or something and it's still super fun
Mostly I like it for the chocolate is what I'm saying
I'll get my gf some stuffs.
You are missing the option of: "Valentine's Day is okay, but ever think of the jerk hole?"
I'm pretty indifferent about Valentine's Day now. I've been single/haven't gone on any dates/etc since high school. Nothing about it is special to me. When I did have a girlfriend, I would put flowers and other goodies in her locker in high school. I would do things like that year round though. Otherwise, it was just an excuse to go on a date. Fun stuff.
Valentine's Day in elementary school was the best, though. We always had a little party and I'd get chocolate and everyone would hand out valentines. The valentines weren't that exciting, but my grandma and I would always create our own valentines box thing to put the cards in, and they were always pretty spectacular. I'd say the best was the 3 foot paper mache Pikachu box we made one year. Unfortunately it doesn't exist anymore because a few years ago mice got into it and my parents threw it away.
Valentines Day is fine.
Matt and I don't do very much to celebrate it though, as our anniversary falls a few days beforehand, and we do something more fancy for that as opposed to Valentines.
It's kinda dumb. It would mean a whole lot more to any gender if you picked a random day in September to do the things you do on Valentine's Day. A day set aside that forces you to do and expect it takes away the romanticism people claim it has.
...
I don't go all crazy on Vengeance Day but it's a fun little event where you take a little extra time to be sweet with your sweetheart. That's always good. Sure it's consumerist, but uh if that's a problem, I got news, every day is Maximum Consumerism.
Valentines day is a dumb holiday. And I don't say that just because I'm currently single. Even when I was in relationships I thought it was dumb. But maybe that is because I treat multiple days throughout the year as such without such fuss.
<PaperStar> live fast, die young, bad plefs do it well
I really love Valentine's Day. I know it's commercialized but so what? I'm buying chocolates and flowers and dinners to the man I love, which more than justifies it.
I suppose if you were single, then I guess it can be slightly grating though.
I hate it 'cause I'm alone. I used to think I hated it because of the shameless commercialisation of people's relationships, the shallowness of said relationships that only express themselves on this single, arbitrary day in the middle of February, the exploitation on those in relationships, pressured into lining the corporations pockets with cash lest they be stigmatised for not making an appropriate effort...
But as time has gone on, I've come to realise that I was just jealous. Yes it's a dumb idea. Yes it's been trussed up and 'commercialised' and has no real meaning. But so what? So has everything in the world. All it really comes down to is it's a nice excuse to do something special, and a fixed day to look forward to and plan for like you might a birthday or anniversary. If one couple in the world has a nicer day than they otherwise would have because it was arbitrarily marked out as a 'special occasion,' then Valentine's Day has served its purpose and had a positive impact on the world.
Still sucks for those of us who can't attract a partner, but oh well. That's a problem with me, not the holiday!
I personally don't get that "being romantic on this arbitrary day instead of the rest of the year" because you can do both you know. I'm in a relationship now where we do romantic things for each other on random days because we feel like it and on holidays. Just gives another reason for them, in my opinion!
