I call it the bathroom or the restroom, but I've heard it called the washroom before so I think of bathroom when I hear washroom. I'd never heard laundry room called washroom until his family

It depends on the region/ accent you use. Some regions take their language to specifics. It's most noticeable when you're talking with people whose primary language isn't English. Makes for fun conversations when you're visiting other places, or impromptu pictionary games.
I just tell people I'm taking a dump. They can usually figure out what I mean.

In answer to the OP, washroom makes me thing of... sinks. I don't think of either a bathroom or a laundry room. Just sinks.
