I think it's a really neat idea for a game, but that's because I have memories of being like six years old and drawing my own ideas for SMB 3 levels on notebook paper. It's basically a kid's dream come true!

2 MORE DAYS!!!!!
Who else is as jacked as I am?
If anyone wants to try a level I uploaded here is the code!

I've got it! However, I didn't yet get the Anniversary amiibo.
Unfortunately, I upgraded my internet service yesterday & my router no longer connects my devices to the internet.
I'm going to have to get another router tomorrow. $100+ bucks wasted.
Apparently, there's a Gnat Attack game w/ a Builder Mario Costume Prize.
I didn't think I was getting mario Maker. But then I picked it up anyways. Part of me was happy to see Gnat Attack in there in some form, but it just doesn't have the same charm as the original Mario Paint version.
I was interested at first, but they really lost me with the move to the WiiU and replacing Sackboy with some overweight Italian plumber.
I finally uploaded a stage today! I call it Red Pill/Blue Pill.

You know, I don't own a WiiU or have any particular interest in owning Super Mario Maker, but I am beyond impressed with all of the options available to people in it -- there is an unbelievable amount of freedom given here. Kudos to Nintendo. ^_^ b
Got this yesterday and boy did time fly by! My girlfriend and I are super chuffed with this game, really awesome stuff. Imagine having something like this in the early 90's, that would have blown my mind.
At first I was a bit annoyed with gating of content, but I completely understand. Once you start mucking around with your toolkit they slowly introduce you to more things. I'd probably feel too overwhelmed if I had access to everything from day one. This game is full on.
I uploaded 2 levels if anyone wants to check them out. They're easy, but hopefully interesting enough, I love making multiple pathways through a level.

"... and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written."
One of the most painful things about my absence these two weeks was the inability to grab and enjoy Super Mario Maker on release. I'll make sure to make up for it coming week
I'm not sure if this is already in the game, or planned for the game in the future, but I'd LOVE a way to create objectives within a level! (e.g. find all 8 red coins before the exit will appear) I think it'd add another extra adventure element that I'd love to see in a Mario game.
