Is this like Record Keeper in that it requires a constant Internet connection to play?
-
Yeah, you need to be connected to the Internet to play. A component of the battle system is sharing medals with other players.

Well that's dumb
Anyway, started it and it's pretty cool
-
Actually really enjoying it.
Not sure how to add people on it but my character is Mayrissa in the Vulpines (I think)

I am Sheetle, also in the Fox one. I played until it allowed me to stop, but it's pretty cool!

I'm in Vulpes, too. It's definitely the most popular of the unions
As far as I understand, you don't have a traditional friends list. You can form a party with people who are in the same Union as you. I think you can either look them up by their user ID or their ranking, but I'm not sure how to do that yet. Also, you can only be in one party.
So judging by the union choices in this thread so far, here's what you need to do to play with other EoFFers:
You need to be in Vulpes, the fox/wolf. One of us has to start a Party, which can be found in the games "Other" menu. Then, people would have to post their user ID here so the party leader can add them.
Being in a party has 3 benefits I know of:
1. There's a chat box on the home page where your party can talk
2. When you go on missions, you have access to your party members best medals to use in battle. If you go to your medal menu and hit "share" on your best medal, players from around the world will be able to use it. Being in a party ensures that your friends medal always show up in the list you choose from.
3. You occasionally run into "raid bosses" that show up on the missions menu. If you lose to them, your party members who are online get a notification saying they can help fight the boss.
It's a lot to take in, but once you get a feel for the game and get used to the menus, a lot more of the stuff in this post will make sense.
As for me, I was randomly given a party request from a stranger. It's worked out well for me so far and having the medals of top players is a definite benefit. I've made friends out of it, as well.
Ill be happy to answer any questions.

If you can figure out how to add me from that, have at it!
