According to Wikipedia, "happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy." For some, happiness is found in the smallest things. For others, happiness can be hard to stumble upon - even more so to hold onto.
We live in a world which tells us that we must ALWAYS BE HAPPY. That anything but happy and smiley is sub-par, and is not enough. Thomas Jefferson spoke of 'The Pursuit of Happiness' as an unalienable right, which has been given to us and should be protected.
The great philosopher of the modern generation, Pharrell Williams, spoke of happiness as feeling like a 'room without a roof'.
I think the person who had it right though, was Aristotle. This is a man who decided that happiness depends on ourselves. There's a lot of BULK to Aristotle's theories on happiness, and it's a lot of meat for a Ciddies speech. But he basically stated that happiness is a (if not THE) central purpose of human life.
So then, what makes someone the Happiest Member? Is it their zest for life? Is it their unfathomable ability to see the light in darkness? Is it having a wonderful smile? Is it the ability to spread happiness? I'm not sure. I couldn't figure it out myself, so I went back through some of these members posts to see just who
is the happiest!
