I think this is quite a good film, a nice sci-fi (with a sub plot of bittersweet romance) that defeats the bad dudes without being overly sappy.
How about the rest of you?

i actually love the movie... i feel it was judged unfairly because people were hoping for an FF VII movie or some medieval throwback... people got their hopes up for one thing and got something else, a really good Sci-fi movie... though it prolly shouldn't have had the FF name on it, considering it takes place in an alternate version of our universe and not the usual FF Universe...
Eh. It was alright. Nothing special.
I rather enjoyed this movie. In fact, over the years, I've grown rather fond of it. It's a hell of a lot better than Advent Children. What the film lacked in the visual and fan-fave elements of the series, it did really strike a chord with some of the messages and directions the series was going in at the time. I can't be the only person who watches the flick and suddenly gets in the mood to play FFVII or IX?
True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
It was definitely a very good sci fi film. Pity it almost sunk SE. Fan expectations are a bitch.
I remember I decided to review the DVD after having seen it in the cinema. I appreciated it way more on the DVD as I wasn't built up on expectations and hype, and had the time to watch the extra features through which really made me appreciate the film a lot more.
Bow before the mighty Javoo!
Hype gets out of hand I think. I remember this film's release but, I wasn't on any fansite at the time so I didn't watch it until later when I got the DVD. I don't buy into hype a lot. Its a better way for me to go.
Yeah, I really enjoyed it. I actually saw this at the cinema and it looked fantastic. You kind of forget it's all computer animated while you're watching. I remember it being a big thing at the time how many individual strands of hair they created for Aki.
