I've vaguely heard of Live A Live but never played it since it only exists as a fan translation. Same reason why I never finished SD 3. My emulation days are long past so I'd need a legit port to play those gems.

I've played it. A couple of times actually. But never beat it. I don't think I even beat any of the stories or anything. I just dabbled in it once or twice
Yeah, I don't emulate very often so while I've dabbled in several old titles, I almost never finish them. I would have listed Robotrek but my friend moved away and insisted I give the game back to him.

Shame, because Live A Live doesn't even get good until the Knight chapter. And then it punches you right in the gut and puts the entire game's premise on its head.
Seriously, this was the Undertale before we even had Undertale when it comes to post-modern plays on player expectations regarding games, or at least good versus evil stories in this one. I really wish more people knew Live A Live, because while I don't think it could win any awards or anything, it was really ahead of its time and still drives its message home very effectively.
Also, Megalomania
(funnily enough, the first video I wanted to link was actually Megalovania, just disguised as Megalomania. Clever troll.)
Vagrant Story
The World Ends With You
Parasite Eve
I'm terrible at *completing* RPGs, so I'll add to the list games I've spent a considerable amount of time on and plan to beat (so as to flesh out my list, because I'm a dirty cheater)
Chrono Trigger: I chipped away at it from time to time in High School, but I got burned out by the end game, started a new game and having a lot more fun with it
Valkyrie Profile: I LOVE this game, and would've beaten it already if the game allowed me to play Disc 2 (the PS1 US version suffers from a defective print that causes even the tiniest scratch on the disc to render the game unplayable). From what I did play, it's arguably one of my favorite RPGs, and I look forward to the day I can play the whole thing (I hate emulation, and I lack a PSP, but I might cave in to one of those options).
Super Mario RPG: No real excuse here, other than my Wii's at my parents' house 2 states away.
I also plan on beating at least one story in SaGa Frontier, but that game is VERY opaque.
Returners Represent!
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VI
Super Mario RPG
Chrono Chross
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy XII
Do Parasite Eve, Brave Fencer Musashi, Einhander, Front Mission, all the stuff from the PS1 days count? Because I'm a huge fan of those, I'm missing the Mana and SaGa series. But with Square as a publisher on the PS3/4 gen though? Aside from FF, I only play the Tomb Raider series.
For better or worse, to be a fan of Final Fantasy is to witness history in the making.
As a rogue completionist, I tend to get overly obsessed with collecting and playing mini-games, so I mostly haven't finished most games, though have played quite a lot of SE games.
Ones I finished include Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve 2, Radiata Stories (non-human ending), Life Is Strange, A King's Tale... that's it.
Jack: How do you know?
Will: It's more of a feeling really.
Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?
Will: No.
If Demolition Man were remade today
Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
Huxley: NO!
Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
Spartan: But Huxley.
Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.
By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.
Are we including the likes of the new Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, etc?

Lemme think here..
Chrono Trigger + Cross, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Seiken Densetsu 3, Sword of Mana, Dawn of Mana, Bravely Default, the two new Tomb Raider games,
Front Mission 4, Radiata Stories, Grandia 3, Valkyrie Profile 1 + 2, Star Ocean 3 4 and 5, World Ends With You, The Last Remnant,
Nier, Parasite Eve 1 + 2 + 3rd Birthday, Deus Ex: Human Revolution + Mankind Divided, Life is Strange, Xenogears, Legend of Mana, Treasure of the Rudras
