I guess Vivi fares well against masses where you can have multiple votes and/or where people's faves are more spread out amongst various opposition, but not so well against specific opposition when it's a 1 v 1 fight. I remember Vivi won Best Character in the 25th Anniversary Ciddies thing too, which had quite a large haul of votes. It probably also helps that with these polls it's a much more niche group voting rather than a huge mass of people.
