Not totally crazy about either character, but I did enjoy Prompto's character more than Tifa's for sure.
It's going to have to be Prompto. He holds such a heavy weight on his shoulders throughout the game, yet he still manages to stay (mostly) positive. Tifa is a good character but she's too hung up on Cloud. Childhood friends this, childhood friends that. Like, ok, we get it.

Prompto is a great character but hardly any of his development happens in the game itself.
