Golbez has finally been confirmed today, making Gabranth the only playable characters from the original that is not confirmed for the game. Missing from Duodecim's lineup is Gilgamesh, Prishe, Tifa, Laguna, and Yuna. It should be noted that the season pass does mention six new character will be downloadable in the future.

Tetsuya Nomura wants Minwu to be a character.

The producers have discussed wanting Auron and Aranea Highwind as characters, and though some have talked about Beatrix, the producer said it might be "impossible" for some reason.

Team Ninja said that Dead or Alive characters would not show up in the game, but has said they are interested in incorporating other characters from Non-FF related Square Enix games, perhaps Sora and Loto may make an appearance in the future?
