I know you weren't asking me, but I will just say it. In terms of overall looks, she's the hottest and if you don't consider the size of her chest, her face and hair combined is a picture of beauty. The next would be Lani, but she doesn't appear as often, and is an NPC.

I foresee a problem with the coupling of Steiner and Beatrix. In professional terms, he's a mere low ranking officer in charge of a squad of about ten or so guys, compared to a general who is overall commander of a division sized army and a sizeable navy. It will really down his ego quite a bit and might spill over to the personal side of this relationship with Beatrix.

And personally, as I played the game, I found myself siding with Zidane, agreeing with him what a difficult character Steiner would be to deal with in real life. Esp in the early part of the game. I am guessing the only reason why Beatrix eventually fell for him was because she didn't have anyone else to seek companionship with.

All this is just my personal opinion though, I would still agree with Steiner fans that he has the cool factor with him, and he shares credit with Zidane for treating a guy with little self confidence like Vivi as someone worthy of respect.

What about Beatrix and Fratley? That pairing just clicked. I kinda like it.

I can't imagine a human-rat hybrid though. Nah, for sake of the gene pool let's keep it within the species.

EDIT: Going back to thread topic, looked "Beatrix" up Wikipedia and its Latin for "Blessed Woman".

Beatrix is on my short list of honorable villains that I liked enough to wish they could join the active party:

Olan Durai in FFT (Galaxy Stop is awesome!)

Rubicant in FFIV (Nice Guy Fire Fiend)

Edea in FFVIII ((SPOILER)Yes, I know she joins the party at one point, but it's only for a while)

Beatrix in FFIX (Good skills and interesting character)

So how come you can get Save the Queen, but not her?

Shakespeare has a little in-joke in Much Ado About Nothing when he names his hero Benedict ('he who blesses') and Beatrice ('she who is blessed'). Predictably, they spend the whole play fighting only to realize at the end (SPOILER)that they really love each other.

Steiner's blokes are the Knights of Pluto, and they protect the Queen. Beatrix goes off fighting, and protects the queen when home. They're pretty equal. Steiner would probably consider his job more important.

Well, if you use Steiner in the end, then he gets pretty stong, and could easily defeat Beatrix if you think about it...So yea they are basically on the same level.

Well you know what? I don't care. She's skilled, she's hot, and she knows how to take charge yet still leave some control for others. Screw all that other stuff.

Early on though during the play when Steiner was looking for the princess, he tries entering the Queen's room, and one of the Squad Beatrix troops said in a rather proud tone that only they can guard the Queen's bedchamber or stuff like that.

So definitely some of the guard work is shared by the squad Beatrix troops which decreases the role of the Pluto Knights by quite a bit. Except for the part where the newly coronated Queen Garnet has to tell the Pluto Knights what to do when the city is under attack, they are mostly for comic relief.

Captain Steiner no doubt sees his job very important, and his protection goes to a level where it irritates the runaway princess. The poor Captain though has to deal with his subordinates who don't seem to have the same urgency or pride in their jobs. Just my five cents.

Yes, that is very true. But I just love the couple...
