People with glasses are nerds~!

Do you wear glasses? In movies/tv/books and mostly anything else, nerds always wear glasses! ...Duh. But why?

I don't understand why, really. Someone can't see so he gets glasses and everyone calls him a nerd. And the weird thing about it is that when a kid in my [old] class got glasses he was called a nerd but when get got contacts he wasn't anymore.

I actually think some people look really good in glasses. I am not one of those people. I cannot pull off the glasses look for some reason, but since I have awful eyesight, I wear contacts instead.

I think contacts are cool but glasses arent necessarily cool. They can be though plus they make you look smart which is cool.

Reading at a close distance strains the eyes, and makes them focus closer to you than normal. Since most "nerds" read a lot, they all become near-sighted. This is why the more intelligent people tend to wear glasses, since they tend to read more than someone with an 80 IQ.
