You've said before that the grammar may be wrong, or summat along those lines, so by "anticipating" do you mean "looking forward to" or just kind of "before". Because it could mean either that the character is looking forward to the end of something, or that the character is just one that happens before something.

If it's looking forward to then I'm guessing Garland. He makes sense to the riddle occasionally, but I'm pretty sure that the reasons for that are too deep in thought. As you've said, it's very literal. But yeah, I'll go Garland.
