Hmm...I'm trying to think of hints that won't tell you the answer. Hmm...
It's written in French for a small part. It's written backwards for a clue to two parts. For one part it needs to be translated.
For the "high" part, think basic.

Hilgigars?
I'll tell you my reasoning if it is correct ^^
It's wrong, but I'd still like to hear your reasoning![]()
He is not high! Backwards in French. hmm, Zidane, IS a french name. So I'll guess Zidane.
That has nothing to do with backward-ocity
Even though it is very short, the answer is given in two parts. You won't find it all in one.
The answer is a name though, but not an important one.
Yeah it was. Try thinking about the riddle.
Well, I thought something like this.Originally Posted by Pure Quin14

Then you said that there was two meanings of the riddle being backwards, so I thought it might be because Hilgigars is somewhat of a reference to the Hill Gigas of earlier FFs (backwards).
For the french, I'm not sure what I thought.
As always, it sounds better in my head than it does written out. =P
This riddle has no references to any other games. You're on the right line with opposites, but you took a wrong turn.
thanks for the clarifications, unfortunately I still have no idea. I was going to guess something to do with the development of chocobos until you said "think basic" referring to "high"....you know, strange gas...enlightenment by chubby chocobo... otherwise, ya' got me.
Brian: "If I remember correctly, this is the Physics Department."
Chris: "That would explain all the gravity."
Heh. Not that kind of high
As I said before, you were on the right lines with opposites.
the backwards thing makes me think of Ipsen's castle...but I can't think of any unimportant name that has anything to do with being high up...

Wow, I haven't posted here in a while. Ipsen makes sense, considering it is an upsidedown castle. (Backwards proof #1) Weaker weapons also work as stronger weapons. (Backwards proof #2) As for the french, I have no clue. THe only character that I remember coming in contact with Ipsen was Colin. Colin is derived from Nicholas, which is a name of French origin. Aaaand that's it.
I think it's the boy in Alexandria. He hide his card and his mother ask Vivi to race with him.
The Late Owen Macwere Production.
Ipsen is.....wrong. As is Hippaul. The backwards part doesn't mean backwards in the game. Think of the whole line: "He is not high". What is he then?
