This is referring to Disc 3 DURING the Treno card tournament when u must leave with ONLY Zidane and go back to Dali. The coffer is Either referring to the Key hidden in the Mayor's house OR the chest hidden in Dali. The one whom is sleeping, well let's just say DUH!!!, and as for the beasty Item and it's being Worthless I have to say it is the Mini-Prima Vista. However, I am of a mind to disagree with the statement that it is worthless. I play RPG's in an attempt to get everything as one of my playthroughs.....thus getting this and the subsequent aid it gives you in attaining Rank S from the "four armed man"makes it worth getting at least on occasion. As for the last stanza. It is referring to Kuja Summoning Bahamut and the accompanying set of events over which you have no control. Thought I would at least give an explanation with my answer even though someone else got to the base answer a post or two earlier.
Input on my ideas as ALWAYS is appreciated. and by the way THINGFISH I have FINALLY gotten time away from college classes to work on my riddle. Upcoming SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is nice. The three who must fail are the three players before you get to play the card champion. And when you do win, you get the Oglop Card. Oglop's are useless little beasty
Beware Erin, who is a sky captain because she's the champ. She comes along with Regent Cid, who is in the form of a useless beast: oglop. As soon as you finish the CARD battle, it goes pretty much straight to a cut scene without any movement on your behalf.

you see, the useless beasty part got everyone off, even Llanowar. That part is subjective and should have been rephrased. this riddle might have been answered earlier if that was different.
Reading that explanation I do not mind the beasty part which could have been figured out....my problem is you only defeat 2!!! count them 2 other players before Erin so the wording of the riddle sounds a little bit off because it makes it sound like 3 are beaten BE4 the sky captain.
