Feel My Blade is the absolute best. for what could be a team theme song it only plays during the canary play fake battle scene.

also beatrix's theme and the final world map song. and the burmecia/gizamaluke grotto songs are good!

Two names I have seen so far, some of them being "Rose of May" or "Loss of Me", I don't know which is the correct one, but they could be basically the same name given the Japanese confusion with R and L. There is the sad version when she is thinking to herself (my fave), the doom version when you have to fight Beatrix, and the fast paced one when she and Steiner fight side by side.

I liked the Corruption Theme, that I would more associate with Kuja than the evil sounding piano theme because of it has the feel of pure evil in it. Listening to it makes you feel being bad is cool.

Hunter's Chance was my real favourite, it pumps your adrenaline up, especially if you can visualise not just the Festival Hunt, but a close quarter battle with numerous close shaves and lots of crap coming your way, with the battle scene slowing to a near halt right where the music pauses.

Sleepless City Treno is great to listen to when you feel as crap as the city it is dedicated to.

Wall of Sacred Beasts has this beautiful trance like effect.

Stolen Eyes when you want to think really sweet romantic thoughts.

This post is getting too long, but I think you get the picture that you can match most tracks to your emotion of the day, which is what makes them great.

I haven't played FFIX in a while, so I don't quite remember what all the music sounded like. It's all beautiful, but of course I have faves. XD

    (in no order)
-- The Boss Theme (whatever the proper name is)
-- Melodies of Life (the lyrics are pretty)
-- Loss of Me (especially on piano)
-- Vamo Alla Flamenco (I want to learn this on the piano so badly!!!! I have the sheet music and everything, but I don't have time to practice nowadays.)
-- Black Mage Village (so upbeat and catchy ^^)
-- Dark City Treno (FUN to play on the piano... kind of ragtime-ish)
-- Unrequited Love (First heard the piano version on the Final Fantasy S Generation CD... but for some reason, I can't find anything for this song online. Does it go by another name or something?)

Starting on my left with one, your number comes up, you go.

    Dark Messenger no doubt.

Here are my fav's by far:

-Feel my Blade (just só great!)
    -Pandemonium (Yay! Dracula-ish castle music!)
-Boss Battle Theme (At last, a true BOSS battle theme, compared to VII or VIII)
-Terra (So fitting for the part of the game...)
-Soulless Village - Bran Ball (See above)
-You're not alone! (Gotta be the best non-battle theme of IX.)
-The Memory Place (Really, the best Final Dungeon Music ever, hands down)
-Crystal World (A great throwback at the original FF's)
-Messenger of Destruction/The Dark Messenger (A really great track. Probably teh best non-final-battle music ever composed)
-The Last Battle (I know, it's 'The Final Battle', but 'The Last Battle' sounds more epic. This track is absolutely great. It adds so much to the Godly appearance of Necron, like you really are fighting a God. At last we have a true Final Battle Theme again! Sure, OWA was good, Ultimecia was not memorable, but Necron's theme is just so awesome, with those moaning souls now and then, and how the track builds up, simply amazing, the best Final Boss Track ever, hands down.)

Of course, tehse are teh ones I like most, but IX has the best music list of all FF's (IMO).

The one Kupo Man is talking about is Sleepless City I think. The one the link has on it is Melodies of Life.
