Don't overexert yourself -- you don't need to find absolutely every single candle. While it's recommended that you do to get all the bloodstones, you only need to light the candles that light up the stained-glass windows to proceed. For instances, you can miss the candle that opens the Fairy Earrings chest and be able to get along just fine. Many "light-up" candles are behind the three-tier bookshelf, so make sure you go there by all means.
