...Why, exactly, does time being finite mean that there is no future? 'Future' is just a descriptor for a time period 'ahead' of us in our chronologically attuned minds, and all that. In a fated world with finite time, 'future' and 'past' only have meaning depending on one's place in time.

Time is infinite means there's only the NOW time.
This time only flow in one direction; to the future.
Future will never exist until time reached that point.

So, your definiton- emphasis on your- of finite time means that there is no future. The actual definition of 'finite' does not preclude a future. The only thing finite implies is an eventual end.

This is not impossible in a finite timespan. The only thing a finite timespan makes impossible is going beyond the start and endpoints.

Time is infinite, because scientists studying string theory agree that time existed before the big bang (creation of our universe) and time will continue.

You entire argument relies on the false dichotomy of either 'finite time/ no time travel' or 'infinite time/ allowance of time travel'. And it IS a false dichotomy, since you are twisting the definition of finite to suit your purposes.

No. When the Big Bang starts, so does time. We are still in the process of the Big Bang, after all.
